DIOCLETIAN, (A.D. 284-305), AE folles, Aquilea mint, issued A.D. 305-6, (10.76 grams), obv. laureate bust of Diocletian to right with imperial mantle with olive branch and mappa, around D N DIOCLETIANO FELICISSIMO SEN AVG, rev. around PROVIDENTIA DEORVM QVIES AVGG, Providentia standing to right extending hand to Quies standing left, holding branch upwards, across S F, AQP in exergue, (S.3543, RIC 64a). Extremely fine with light brown patina, a rare type.

An issue struck after his abdication.
