PALESTINE, Athenian derivative silver obol, (0.77 grams), issue c.4th century -332 B.C., obv. plain circular globule representing head of Athena to right wearing ivy crested helmet, eye in profile, rev. owl standing to right, head facing, in erect posture, olive twig and crescent behind, to right traces of degraded legend **AQE, all in incuse square, (cf.S.2541, close to dies in Meshorer/Qedar "Samarian Coinage [1999] No.269ff). Toned, off centred obverse, very fine and rare.
