MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.83 grams), Ake mint, issued year 22, = 325-324 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, to left date //== below -I O, ALEXANDROU* to right, (cf.S.6713, Price 3254, BMC 3254a-b, M.-, SNG Munich 727). Weakly struck in centre, otherwise very fine and rare.

A rare dated lifetime issue of Alexander the Great.
