MACEDON, Kingdom of, Philip II, (359-336 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (13.47 grams), "Amphipolis III" mint, issued c. 323/2-316/5 B.C., obv. head of Zeus laureate to right, dotted border, rev. naked youth or small man (Philip II), on horseback to right, **DR* monogram below, club between legs on right, above **FILIP POU*. (cf.S.6683, Le Rider Pl.44, 22, [p.122, only one noted that in commerce], Troxell type I4, group 4 [notes only two examples known]). In high relief, double struck on the obverse, otherwise extremely fine and very rare.
