MACEDON, Terone, (500-480 B.C.), silver tetrobol or sixth stater, (2.09 grams), obv. bunch of grapes on oinochoe to right in dotted circle, rev. quadripartite incuse square, (cf.S.1291 [£150], Hardwick [see below] Pl.29, 6, SNG ANS 748). Porous surface, very fine and rare.

Dr. Nicholas Hardwick in "The Coinage of Terone from the Fifth to the Fourth Centuries BC" in Studies in Greek Numismatics in memory of Martin Jessop Price (pp.119-134, London, 1998), proposes that this issue is part of Group II-III and is c.490-460 B.C.
