MOESIA SUPERIOR, Viminacium, Gordian III (A.D. 238-244), AE 30, (20.11 grams), obv. laureate bust of Gordian III to right, around [IMP GOR]DIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. female figure standing between bull and lion, in exergue AN III, around P M S C OL [VIM], (year 3 = 240-1), (cf.S.3642, SNG Cop.142). Off centred, light brown patination, otherwise fine - good fine.

Sear notes that the bull and the lion are the emblems of Legions VII and IV, which were quartered in the province.
