CELTIC, Danube Region, reduced weight issue in Oltenia and Bucuresti areas in the territory of the Getae, imitation of Philip II tetradrachm, (late 3rd - 2nd century B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (13.17 grams), obv. crude simplified head of Zeus to right, rev. horse to left with crude lines above as remnants of rider, pellet between fore-legs, (cf.S.211-2, CCCBM Vol.I, type C1 type ix [Branch arm type], No.26 [very similar dies], de la Tour 9817, Pink OK 291-2, Sammlung Lanz 584-585 [similar dies]). Minor flan crack, very fine and rare.
