DOMINICA, 1813, silver 16 bitts, struck from a centrally pierced Charles IIII 1790F.M. (portrait of Charles III) Mexico City Mint eight reales or dollar, the piercing from the reverse side with crenellations, countermarked on the obverse at the top and the reverse at base with crowned 16 within shaped indent with die break through 1 (22.89g) (Pr.24; KM.8.2). Toned fine, countermark very fine and extremely rare.

Ex H.D. Gibbs Collection (lot 1417) and Ralph C. Gordon Collection (lot 78).
