CHARLES II, hammered coinage, 1660-2, third issue, silver shilling, mm crown both sides (S.3322). Beautifully sealed bluish grey and gold patina, extremely fine or practically mint state and very rare as such, one of the finest known.

Purchased from Spink Australia in 1976 and ex J. G. Murdoch Collection (lot 563), previously from the Wigan, Neck and Webb collections (lot 652).
