First engraved as a re-named medal 7141 Cpl. J.A.Lewis L.H., second medal impressed 8 Sjt. J.A.Lewis Imp. L.I. Third impressed as a renamed medal Sg. Mr. J.A.Lewis, 2nd B.H. Very fine.

H.Lewis medal in wooden box with torn original ribbon (one of only twenty awarded), J.A.Lewis group with Victoria South African veteran's enamelled and gilt medalet by A.H.W(ittenbach) & Co. (23mm). With research. J.A.Lewis never claimed entitled Zulu wars (1879) South Africa Medal.
