THRACE-MACEDON UNDER MITHRADATES VI OF PONTUS, in name of Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.554 grams), Messembria mint, posthumous issue struck 100-72 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, **DA* in left field below helmet, under throne HPA, to right **BASILEWS*, to left **[A]LEXANDROU, (cf.S.6713, Price 1054, M.464, BMC 1054a-d, Karayotov 47). Very fine or better, rare.
