MACEDON, Thessalonica, Nero, (A.D. 54-68), AE 21, issued IV, (6.18 grams), obv. Nero laureate or radiate head right, around traces of **NERWN KAISAR*, rev. within wreath in three lines **QESSA / LONIKE / WN*, dotted border, (S.-, RPC 1600, BMC-, SNG's-); Syria, Seleucis and Pieria, Antiochia ad Orontem, Nero, AE 16, issued 59-60, obv. Apollo head right, rev. ANTIOX ET HP, around a lyre, (S.-, RPC 4293, BMC 80-83). Dark tone, fine/good fine and very rare; second coin extremely fine. (2)

RPC note 8 examples of the Thessalonica type, one in the Paris Bibliotheque Nationale and others in private collections. The coinage of Nero from this mint. He noted as rare and poorly preserved. RPC note 9 examples of the Antioch type,
