ITALY, Lucca, in name of Henry III, emperor, (11th -13th cent.) Billon deniers, obv. +IHPERATOR, debased OTTO monogram (H), rev. +ENRICVS, LUCA crosswise around central pellet (Metcalf 9-18 [Pl.1]). Fine. (2)

Along with those of Valence, the deniers of Lucca were a preferred foreign currency, used in the Latin east.
