MEXICO, Philip II (1556-1698), cob eight reales, Mexico City Mint, issued 1556-98, assayer O (appears 'C'). Possibly a contemporary forgery, spread flan, fine.

Framed with certificate of origin (no.217) ascribing this coin as a recovery from the 'Nuestra Senora' wreck (1620).
