FRANCE, Francis I, (1515-1547), ecu d'or au soleil, fifth type issued 1519, (mint mark dot on 11th letter, Saint- Pourcain mint), (3.29 grams), obv. +FRANCISCVS DEI GRACIA FRANCORV REX, crowned arms with sun above, crowned F and crowned arrow, rev. small cross with extremities with lis and diagonals of F and fleur de lis, around. +XPS VINCIT XPS REGNAT XPS IMPERAT, (Lafaurie 639; Ciani 1073-4, Duplessy 790). Slightly crinkled, nearly very fine, with a very round flan, probably made from a machine, rare.
