AETHELRED II, (978-1016), silver penny, Helmet type, Lincoln mint, issued c.991-997, obv. radiate helmeted bust to left, rev. long cross voided with three crescents at each end over square with trefoil at each end, +OZ GOE D M-O LINC (Osgoed of Lincoln), (S.1152, N.775, BMC viii). Slightly crinkled, toned, otherwise nearly extremely fine and rare.
