EDGAR, (959-975), silver halfpenny, London mint, obv. diademed bust to right, around EADG+ AR RE, rev. London monogram with cross above and six dots below, (S.1140B [£1750 VF], N.753 [noted as ER {extremely rare}], Blunt & Dolley 'The Chester (1950) Hoard' BNJ 1953 No.515). Weak on bust otherwise very fine/nearly extremely fine and extremely rare with fewer than ten known.

Ex Classical Numismatic Group Auction Sale 63 May 21, 2003, (lot 1937) and Noble Numismatics Auction Sale 78 (lot 703). From the same dies as the clipped specimen listed in Spink Numismatic Circular 1989, No.4038 at £7500.
