CARACALLA, (A.D. 198-217), silver denarius, issued 200, Rome mint, (3.452 grams), obv. laureate draped and cuirassed bust to right of Caracalla, around ANTONINVS AVGVSTVS, rev. Victory hovering left, with wreath and shield, around VICT AETERN, (S.6894, BMC 188, RIC 47a, RSC 614a); another issued 213, Rome mint, (3.116 grams), obv. laureate head right, around ANTONINVS PIVS AVG BRIT, rev. Mars advancing to left, holding spear and trophy, around MARTI PROPVGNATORI, (S.6819, RIC 223, RSC 150). Round well centred flan, very fine and scarce. (2)
