DOMITIAN, (A.D. 81-96), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 94-5, (3.544 grams), obv. laureate head of Domitian to right, around IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR P XIIII, rev. around IMP XXII COS XVII CENS P P P, Minerva standing to left, holding spear, (cf.S.2736 [£160 EF], BMC 226, RIC 189, RSC 286). Full flan, toned, well centred extremely fine and scarce.

Ex Dr. Charles E. Weber Collection. The Reka Devnia hoard contained 81,044 silver denarii and 632 denarii of this ruler but only 3 examples of this variety.
