C. NAEVIUS BALBUS, (c.79 B.C.), silver denarius, (4.038 grams), Rome mint, obv. diademed head of Venus to right, SC behind, rev. Victory in triga to right, in exergue C NAE BALB, all within dotted circle, (S.309 [£140 EF], Cr.382/1b, Syd.769b, Naevia 6b). Serated edge, slightly off centred on the reverse, otherwise extremely fine.
