BACTRIA, Kingdom of, Euthydemus II, (c.185-180 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.134 grams), obv. draped diademed bust of Euthydemos II to right, all within dotted border, rev. naked Herakles standing facing crowned with leaves, holding wreath and club and lion skin in left arm, to left **EU QUDHMOU* and **FIL* monogram, to right **BASIAEW[S]* (sic), (S.7536 [£1500], SNG ANS 217-8, Bopearachchi Series II 1D, MIG 113b). Uneven tone, very high obverse relief, otherwise extremely fine and rare.

The light weight for the tetradrachm is not unusual, a similar example in the ANS collection weighs 14.28 grams. The **L* in **BASILEWS* is written as an A an engraver's error and not previously cited.
