PHOENICIA, Aradus, (early 4th century B.C.), silver stater, (10.602 grams), obv. head of marine deity to right, with laurel wreath, dotted border, rev. galley to waves below, above in Phoenician 'ex Arado' not dated, (cf.S.5971, Betlyon 10 [fourth Aradian Series], BMC 21-23, Pl.I, 15 [square flans]). Square flan, otherwise very good/nearly very fine.

This and the next three lots come from a common hoard. The series has never been fully evaluated for chronology and order of issue.
