SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria, Laodicea ad Mare, Caracalla (A.D. 198-217), silver tetradrachm, (13.836 grams), issued 213-217, obv. laureate head of Caracalla to right, around AYT K M A ANT**W*NEINOC CEB, rev. eagle standing facing, head to left, wreath in beak, between legs star, around **D*HMARX E**X UP*ATOC TO **D*, (S.2657, Prieur 1179 [notes 265 examples known], Bellinger 72). Large round flan as usual, nearly extremely fine portrait with trace of mint bloom, scarce.
