MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), AE 18 (5.980 grams), Macedonian mint, issued 336-323 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. above NI, a club below, **ALEXANDROU* between, bow and bowcase below, (cf.S.6739, Price 309, BMC 309, M.1706, SNG Cop.1060). Even dark patination, slightly off centred obverse, very fine/good very fine and a very scarce type.
