ANTONINIUS PIUS, (A.D. 138-161), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 155, (3.568 grams), obv. ANTONINVS AVG PI VS P P TR P XVIII, laureate head to right, rev. COS IIII, Vesta standing to left before altar, holding patera and palladium, (cf.S.4065, RIC 238, BMC 829, RSC 201). Extremely fine, bright and scarce.

In the Reka Devnia Hoard of 81,044 coins, some 7734 were of Antoninus Pius and only 21 were of this type.
