NERO, (A.D. 54-68), AE sestertius, issued c.65, Lugdunum mint, (23.98 grams), obv. laureate head to right of Nero, around IMP. NERO CAESAR. AVG. P. MAX. TR. P. P.P, rev. Roma seated left on cuirass, holding Victory and parazonium, ROMA in exergue, S C across field, (S.1961 [£500 VF], RIC 591, WCN 477, bmc 326). Attractive even dark brown patina, nearly extremely fine and very rare in this condition.
