EGYPT, Alexandria, Hadrian, (A.D. 117-138), billon tetradrachm, year 15 = A.D. 130-131, (12.406 grams), obv. laureate draped and cuirassed bust of Hadrian to right, around AVT KAI TPAI A**D*PIA CEB, rev. Hadrian togate standing to right, receiving ears of corn from Alexandria L - IE, (S.3736 [Sear Vol. II, VF £100], BMC 669, Milne 1294-6, Koln 1026-8). Very fine and rare.

An important issue struck to commemorate the visit of Hadrian to Egypt in A.D. 130.
