MACEDON, kingdom of Philip III, (323-316 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.41 grams), Ecbatana mint, issued 323-317 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right with lion skin, rev. Zeus seated to left, eagle in outstretched hand, **D* to left, I **W* under throne, to left **FILIPPOU, below **[B]ASILEWS, (cf.S.6749, Price P221, BMC P221, Akcakale Hoard 63, [M.P134]). Has been plugged, uneven edge, otherwise nearly very fine.

Ex Dr. Colin Burnside Collection, and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 56 (lot 1820) and previously from Kenneth A. Jacobs collection with his tickets, (lot 26 part).
