MACEDON, Kingdom of, Philip III, (323-316 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.180 grams), Aradus mint, issued c.323-316 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, **LU* over prow to left, Z below throne, to right **ALEXANDROU, below **BASILE[WS]*, all within dotted border, (cf.S.6749, Price P158, BMC P158a-c, M.1275). Toned, very fine or better, with minor graffito in reverse field.

Ex Dr. Colin Burnside Collection, and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 66 (lot 3292).
