WILLIAM I, (1066-1087), silver penny, Canopy type, issued 1070-1072, obv. crowned diademed bust facing within canopy, rev. double quadrilateral with incurved sides, fleury in angles, annulet in centre, around +WULFGAET ON GLEPEC (Godric of Gloucester) (S.1252, North 843, BMC iii No.187, Br.III). Flan crack, nearly very fine and very rare.
