CEYLON (SRI LANKA), Dutch coinage for Ceylon, silver Fanam of six stivers, Negapatnam mint, late 17th century, and reissued in Cochin as a two puttuns, obv. crude human figure with sankha shell and quatrefoil of four pellets, rev. O C (Ostindische Compagnie) over curved line and twelve pellets, (Sch. 1234 and cf.Taisei-Baldwin-Gillio sale 19 Feb. 23 1995 [lot 18], KM.2); similar issues (2), late 18th century as silver puttuns, with O C above on reverse, (Sch.1251, KM.1). First scarce, fine - extremely fine. (3)
