GORDIAN III, (A.D.238-244), AE sestertius, struck at Rome, (19.00 grams), obv. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, bust laureate to right of Gordian III draped and cuirassed, rev. around IOVI STATORI, S C across the field, Jupiter standing facing, head to right, holding sceptre and thunderbolt, (S.2437, RIC 298a, C.111). Full flan and legends, dark green patina nearly extremely fine.
