GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), AE Sestertius, issued 238-240, Rome mint, (20.5 grams), obv. laureate bust to right of Gordian III, draped and cuirassed, around IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. Gordian standing to left, sacrificing over tripod altar, around P M TR P II COS P P, S C across, (S.2495, RIC 291, C.217). Green patina, good fine.
