SEVERUS ALEXANDER, (A.D. 222-235), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 231-2, (21.33 grams), obv. laureate head of Severus Alexander to right with slight drapery on left shoulder, around IMP SEV ALE XANDER AVG, rev. around VICTORIA AVGVSTI, S C across field at base, Victory standing to right, foot on helmet, writing VOT V on shield fixed to palm-tree, (S.2269, RIC 616, C.567, BMC 642). Dark tone, very fine.
