REPUBLIC, Anonymous Series, (225-212 B.C.), silver didrachm (quadrigatus), (5.40 grams), Rome mint, obv. laureate janiform head of the Dioscuri, border of dots, rev. Jupiter in quadriga to right, driven by Victory, Jupiter holds sceptre and hurls thunderbolt, in exergue ROMA in relief on tablet, (S.80, Cr.28/3, Syd. 65). Large generous flan, striking flaw on Janus' cheek, otherwise nearly extremely fine and very scarce.
