IONIA, Ephesus, Nero, (A.D. 54-68), silver didrachm, (4.5 grams), obv. bare headed and draped bust right of Nero, around NEPWNOC KAICAPOC **GERMANIKOU, rev. simpulum and lituus , around **DIDPAXMON, (S.566, BMC 209 [p.74]). Good fine and very rare.

One of the few silver coins from ancient times with the denomination spelt out on the reverse (see comment at bottom of page xxiii in Sear, Greek Imperial Coins).
