CHINA, Chou Dynasty, Middle to late period, (from 5th - 3rd century B.C.), large size hollow handled spade money type I (Wang Yu-Ch'uan), with pointed feet, uncertain letter in right field (Da?), Coole type of Kan Tan (Sweet Cinnabar), 60.4 grams, height 131mm, (cf.Coole Vol.1 411, p.166, cf.Sch.43, cf.TFP 11). Green oxidation on mosdt of surface character clear, otherwise very fine and very rare.
