NEW SOUTH WALES ACADEMY OF ART 1872, award medal in silver with suspension ring (52mm), ornate leaf and entwined branch surround mount, inscribed on obverse 'Awarded/ To/ James A.C.Willis/ for the best Exhibit in/ WATER COLOURS/ by an Amateur' and on reverse 'N.S.WALES/ Academy of Art/ EXHIBITION/ 1872'. Extremely fine.

A similar medal featured on the cover and in an article in Australian Coin Review, February 1995.
