VALENS, (A.D. 364-378), silver miliarense, Siscia mint, issued 367-375, (4.38 grams), light miliarense issue, obv. pearl diademed bust of Valens to right, around D N VALEN S P F AVG, rev. Emperor standing facing, head to left, holding standard with chi-rho symbol, resting left hand on shield, around VIRTVS EXERCITVS, in exergue .SISCP, (cf.S.4110 RIC 10b, C.71). Attractive patina, extremely fine and very rare.
