MACRINUS, (A.D.217-218), issue struck at Rome from January 218, AE As, (11.57 grams), obv. [IMP CAES] M OPEL SEV MACRINVS AVG, bust laureate to right, rev. around PONTIF MAX TR P II COS II PP, S C in field, Jupiter standing to left, holding thunderbolt and sceptre, cloak over left arm, (S.2065, RIC 154, C.91). Slightly off centre on obverse, otherwise good fine and rare.
