REPUBLIC, Petillius Capitolinus (c.43 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.81 grams), obv. eagle with open wings on thunderbolt, above PETILLIVS, below traces of CAPITOLINVS, rev. hexastyle temple, S F at sides, (S.326, Cr.487/2b, Syd.1151). Off centre, otherwise lightly toned, very fine and scarce.
