PHOENICIA, Tyre, (c.2nd-1st century B.C.), silver shekel or tetradrachm, (14.43 grams), Tyre mint, issued 76-75 B.C., obv. laureate head to right of the beardless Melqarth, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, carrying palm, standing on prow of ship, club to left, AN (date 51 = 76-75 B.C.), to right A, around TYPOV IERAS KAI ASVLOV, (cf.S.5918, cf.BMC 143, SNG Cop. 324, Hendin 305). Bold, extremely fine and scarce date.
