PALESTINE, Judaea, Second Revolt or Bar Cochba War, (A.D. 132-135), small bronze, AE 18, (4.37 grams), Group 3c, undated attributed to year 3 = A.D. 134-5, obv. bunch of grapes around Hebrew legend = 'For the Freedom of Jerusalem', rev. seven branch palm tree with legend in Hebrew 'Shim`on', (S.5691, Mildenberg 159 [these dies obv. 4, rev. 9],, Mesh. 81a, BMC 99). Weakness on part of reverse legend, otherwise very fine and scarce.

Ex. Christie's New York, Dec. 11, 1992 (lot 823 part). $$ The issue although not dated has been attributed to the third year of the revolt.
