BENGAL PRESIDENCY, Murshidabad Mint, 1793 Second Milled issue, Perpetual 19 san sicca series, Copy of Standard Gold Currency, in the name of Shah Alam II (A.H.1173-1221, A.D.1759-1806), Gold quarter mohur in style of half mohur, (2.81 grams), Regnal Year 19 (fixed), without Privy mark and with oblique milling to left, (cf.Pr. 402, cf.KM. 101). Extremely fine.
Ex. Dr. Hamilton Collection, (Adelaide, South Australia), Spink Australia Sale 6 (lot 1616 part). $$ These very light jewellery pieces in imitation of a half mohur, struck from very crude dies are of modern production.
