BENGAL PRESIDENCY, Princeps Contract Coinage, 1780-1784, proof, falus or quarter anna, in the name of Shah Alam II (A.H.1173-1221, A.D.1759-1806), Regnal Year 22, A.H. 1195 (1780-1781), struck on a large flan, of average weight (7.1 grams), large stars on obverse, (Pr. 196, KM.124). Mint state, with some original mint bloom, some minor spotting and very rare.
Pridmore only had examples of the half and eighth annas in proof (lot 627 and 628).
