BENGAL PRESIDENCY, Princeps Contract Coinage, 1780-1784, madosie or half anna, in the name of Shah Alam II (A.H.1173-1221, A.D.1759-1806), Regnal Year 22, A.H. 1195 (1780-1781), struck on a large flan, of light weight (14.2 grams), large stars on obverse, (Pr. 191, KM.126, Num. Circ. March 1958, Fig. 2, p.62, This Coin). Large dentiles around edge, with traces of lustre, otherwise uncirculated with attractive even brown colour, spots of green, and traces of original mint bloom, very rare.

Ex Wodak Collection. $$ This piece is illustrated in the article on this coinage in the Numismatic Circular March 1958 (p.62, Fig.2). The paper was titled 'John Prinsep's Copper Coins For Bengal' by E. Wodak, (pps. 61-63).
