Bid at live.noble.com.au
SOLD $50

BOMBAY PRESIDENCY, Indian Design, Bombay mint, 1825-1831, in the name of Shah Alam II (A.H.1173-1221, A.D. 1759-1806), gold panchia or third mohur, (3.31 grams), with frozen Regnal Year [46], privy mark No.8 (rosette above 3 lozenges on left, crown above two lozenges on right), (Pr. 267, KM.247). Mounted in centre of obverse, very good/very fine, rare.

The Pridmore example (lot 526), was incorectly described in that the illustration confirms that it is the type above, with the rosette above the three lozenges. Consequently privy mark No.8 should be the same as privy mark 5A.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
