MADRAS PRESIDENCY, 1817-1835, Third European Style Coinage, in the name of 'Alamgir II (A.H.1167-1173, A.D. 1754-1759), Struck at Madras, closed lotus type, silver rupee, half rupee, quarter rupee, sixteenth rupee, impressed with the mint name Arkat, type as mohur with frozen date, A.H.1172, Regnal Year 6, edge with centre graining to left, Sixteenth rupee edge grained to right on very large flan, (Pr. 258, 259, 260, 262, KM. 411, 413, 414, 415). Very fine - extremely fine. (4)

Ex. Glendining's Sept. 10, (lot 164 part) for sixteenth rupee, rupee from Seaby by private purchase January 1970.
