MADRAS PRESIDENCY, British Style Coinage system, Gold third mohur or five rupees, issued 1819, struck at Madras mint, (3.88 grams), obv. EIC arms without suporters, around ENGLISH EAST INDIA COMPANY, rev. in Persian 'Five rupees of the Honourable English Company', (Pr. 244, KM. 422). Nearly extremely fine, scarce.

Ex. Wreck of the 'Fame' (with its ticket), and Glendining's June 16, 1971, (lot 132 part). $$ The issue was 2,179,563.
