MADRAS PRESIDENCY, European Style Coinages, First Issue, 1807, silver half pagoda, obv. Gopuram of a temple with 14 stars each side, around in English HALF PAGODA, rev. deity Vishnu standing surrounded by dotted circles, in native text 'half a flower (or star) pagoda', (Pr. 152, KM. 344). Traces of Spanish dollar of Charles IV undertype, good fine and rare.
